Quebec 2, Sussex County 1

Quebec finished off the four-game sweep of Sussex County as they edged past the Miners by the score of 2-1.

With the game scoreless after six innings of play, Sussex County would finally push a run across in the seventh as 1B Audy Ciriaco came home to score on a single by LF Connor Crane. The Capitales came back in the eighth and took the lead for good as they tallied a pair of runs on an RBI double by 2B TJ White and a run producing single from CF Kalian Sams.

Quebec RF Phildrick Llewellyn went 2-for-3 with a run scored while White had a hit in four at-bats along with a run and an RBI.

Capitales starting pitcher Karl Gelinas tossed eight strong innings to notch his seventh win of the season. Gelinas gave up an earned run on seven hits with a walk and six strikeouts.

Ciriaco had a 2-for-4 game with a run scored in the loss for the Miners.

Trois-Rivieres 4, New Jersey 0 (Game 2 - 7 Innings)

Starting pitcher Kevin McNorton and reliever Shaun Ellis combined on a three-hit shutout as Trois-Rivieres downed New Jersey, 4-0. The win by the Aigles gave them a split in the twinbill and also a series win against the Jackals.

McNorton went the first six innings of the contest and gave up only the three hits and a walk while striking out six batters. Ellis tossed the final inning and allowed a pair of walks and two strikeouts in the 27-pitch effort. McNorton picked-up the win and is now 6-2 on the season.

Offensively for Trois-Rivieres, CF Alexi Colon led the way going 2-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI. Aigles SS Sam Dexter drove in a run in a 1-for-4 night while 1B Kevin Cornelius had a pair of hits in four at-bats and scored a run.

All four of Trois-Rivieres' runs came in the seventh inning.
