Worcester C Yohanny Valera had a terrific game at the plate in leading the Tornadoes to a victory over New Haven County in front of a matinee crowd of 2,417. Valera had a 2-for-4 afternoon with a run scored and an eighth inning three-run home run to break the game open. CF Luis Sabino also chipped in with two hits in four at-bats along with a RBI. Tornadoes reliever John Birtwell evened his record at 1-1 with the win, pitching a scoreless seventh and eighth inning and striking out two batters. RF Orlando Encarnacion had a 1-for-3 outing and plated the only run for New Haven County.
