Sussex continued to climb in the standings by taking a 2-1 decision from Ottawa for their sixth straight win. DH Mario Delgado's eighth inning single scored SS Kevin Rios to gave the Skyhawks a 2-1 lead before closer Matt Petrusek came on for this 17th save of the season. 1B Matt Weston hit his 18th homer of the year to tie the game 1-1 in the second inning. Sussex starter Justin Knoff struck out five in eight innings of work and allowed just one earned run on five hits. With the victory, he upped his mark to 3-0 with Sussex. Noel Baca had a solid outing for Ottawa but was tagged with loss and dropped to 2-9. He pitched 7 1/3 innings and struck out seven while allowing six hits.

Quebec 14, Brockton 4

Quebec jumped all over Brockton starter Jamie Baker scoring three runs in the first inning and adding four more in the second on their way to a 14-4 blowout of Brockton. The heart of the Capitales order proved to be too much as the 2-3-4 hitters went 9-for-12 with seven RBI and eight runs scored. The Capitales hit five doubles including three by 3B Pat Deschenes. RF Josh Colafemina added to the hit parade by finishing 4-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI. Quebec starter TJ Stanton went seven innings and got the win to improve to 5-3 on the season.

New Jersey 10, Nashua 2

New Jersey used two Nashua errors and a home run from 1B Juan Tejeda to establish an early 5-0 lead and beat Nashua 10-2. Tom Atlee started for the Jackals and picked up his second victory of the year as he worked six innings and struck out five. Tejeda was the offensive star of the game with three hits in five trips to the plate, two runs scored, and three RBI. Three other New Jersey hitters had two hits each in the contest. Matt O'Brien went 6 2/3 innings for Nashua but allowed six earned runs and fell to 1-1.

Worcester 5, Atlantic City 1 (Game 1 - 7 Innings)

In the first game of a doubleheader, Worcester used a grand slam home run by SS Chuck Jeroloman to take an early 4-0 lead and cruise to a 5-1 win over Atlantic City. Matt Weagle pitched five innings and struck out eight to get the win and improve to 9-6 on the year. JC Huguet went the whole way for the Surf and also struck out eight but dropped to 8-5. RF Scott Grimes had four hits and scored two runs for the Tornadoes while Atlantic City 2B Brad Thoma homered and finished 3-for-3 in the loss.

In game two, Worcester broke a 3-3 tie in the sixth inning with five runs and swept the twin bill by an 8-4 final. The Tornadoes got their second grand slam of the night as 3B Mike MacMillan hit a shot down the left field line that put Worcester ahead 7-3. Justin Edwards picked up his first win with Worcester as he struck out four in five innings of work. Rory Shortell allowed 12 hits in six innings for Atlantic City and dropped to 7-3.
