Inland Empire 66ers News Release

San Bernardino, CA - Inland Empire is getting some help in the bullpen with the return of former California League Pitcher of the Week Kyle Hurst. Hurst won the award in May of 2011 after throwing 13 scoreless innings over two starts. In a corresponding move Kevin Nabors has been placed on the 7-day Disabled List with a right thumb laceration.

Kyle Hurst was a member of the 2011 Inland Empire starting rotation and thrived in it. He won his California League Pitcher of the Week award over a stretch of 18 scoreless innings where he did not allow a run and he personally went 4-0 in that span. Overall with the 66ers he has a 6-5 record and opponents are batting just .265 against him. He is joining the 66ers from Extended Spring where he was rehabbing a right shoulder injury.

Inland Empire is less than two weeks away from hosting the biggest game of the year. Tickets for the 4th of July showdown with rival Rancho Cucamonga are still on sale but are in limited supply. Tickets can be purchased at the 66ers box office and online at www.66ers.com. For more information on the Inland Empire 66ers please contact Sam Farber, Director of Broadcasting, at 909-495-7632.
