Rancho Cucamonga, CA - Your Rancho Cucamonga Quakes travel to Adelanto today, where later tonight they'll face the High Desert Mavericks in a game that will serve as the tie-breaker to decide the First Half South Division Pennant.
After finishing the first half with identical 37-33 records, the second half has seen the two teams going in different directions. Both clubs lost on Sunday, but the Mavs have won three of four games in the second half, while the Quakes won just one of four against the Bakersfield Blaze over the weekend.
Rancho will start Angel Sanchez, who is 6-3 on the season, but 3-0 against High Desert. The Mavs will counter with lefty Roenis Elias, who has good season-long numbers at 6-4 with a 3.72 ERA, but is 0-1 against the Quakes in three prior starts this year.
