Calgary Roughnecks sign Kevin Reid

Calgary, AB - Calgary Roughnecks general manager Kurt Silcott announced today that the team has signed defenceman Kevin Reid to a one-year deal. Terms and conditions of the contract were not disclosed and the contract is subject to league approval.
Reid, 23, has played for the Maple Ridge Burrards for the past two seasons of the Western Lacrosse Association. In 2006 he tallied 8 points (6 goals, 2 assists) and 43 penalty minutes.
The 6'2" 195lbs. Langley, BC resident, was signed as a free agent, has played in 32 career games for Maple Ridge collecting 21 points (10 goals, 11 assists) and 154 penalty minutes.
"Kevin comes to us highly recommended by both his head coach and our scouts in the west. He had a fantastic summer and we're just hoping that he is a late bloomer and continues to get better", said Roughnecks general manager Kurt Silcott. "He's only 23 years old and has many years of lacrosse in front of him. He gives us some depth in left defensive side where we are aging a bit.
