CALGARY, AB - The Calgary Roughnecks are getting in the holiday spirit and giving back to those children in need this Christmas season by collecting toys for the Salvation Army's 14th Annual Toy Mountain.

The team has set up a Christmas tree at their new office and are asking players, staff and fans to drop off new, unwrapped toys suitable for newborns to teenagers starting November 26th.

"It's great to be given the opportunity to give back to those who not only need it, but appreciate it most, this time of year," said Roughnecks' captain Tracey Kelusky.

"Being able to put a smile on a child's face Christmas morning is very uplifting."

The Roughnecks ask that all toys be delivered to their office before the drop off deadline of December 19th. The players will then be delivering the toys to the LITE 96 radio station. The Roughnecks office is located in Phillips Park at Building A, Unit B, 6120 - 2nd Street S.E.

Last year's Toy Mountain collected over 39,000 toys for the Salvation Army's Christmas hamper program. Toy Mountain is presented by Petro-Canada and LITE 96 in collaboration with the Salvation Army.

"We encourage fans of all ages to drop off a new, unwrapped toy and help us make a difference in a child's Christmas," added Tracey.

Toys in need include:

Infants to age 3: Clothing (0-3), including Sleepers, Bibs, Baby Socks, Coats and Slippers, Blankets, Rattles, Mobiles, Car Seats, Activity Centers, Bathtub Toys and Teething Toys.
