Calgary Hitmen News Release
Calgary, AB - The Calgary Hitmen Hockey Club is proud to once again partner with WEB Consulting Ltd. in support of Pucks for Paws. The campaign, now entering its sixth season, raises funds and awareness for the Four Feet Companion Foundation, a local volunteer-run agency that provides financial grants to registered animal charities in Calgary and area.
The program will see both the Calgary Hitmen Foundation and WEB Consulting Ltd. direct $10 to the cause for every regular season point recorded by sophomore forward Tristen Nielsen. In addition, WEB Consulting Ltd. will contribute $10 per point to Southwood Veterinary Hospital for animal owners who are unable to afford veterinary care.
On Sunday, Dec. 17, when the Hitmen host the Kootenay ICE, fans will have an opportunity to learn more about responsible pet guardianship through in-game activations and by visiting canine companions at the Pucks for Paws concourse display located behind section 211 at the Scotiabank Saddledome.
Nielsen, who has one assist in four games this season, will be looking to add to his point total when Calgary opens a two-game homestand tonight, Oct. 6, at 7:00 p.m. against the Everett Silvertips.
The Hitmen then return to the 'Dome on Sunday, Oct. 8, for a 4:00 p.m. puck drop against the Brandon Wheat Kings. The contest kicks off Sunday Funday presented by Pocky and will feature face painters, concourse activities and a post-game family skate, all complimentary with a game ticket. Sunday Funday pricing sees kids 12 and under receive $8.99 admission (plus fees).
Sunday is also highlighted by a Thanksgiving $10 Toque Toss. Fans attending can purchase an adult ticket for the reduced price of $10 (excludes fees) and are encouraged to bring toques, scarves or gloves to toss on the ice during the first intermission for Project Warmth Society of Alberta, a local registered charity that provides assistance to the homeless and underprivileged. Prior to puck drop, fans can enjoy a full turkey dinner in the Chrysler Club Restaurant for the special price of $12.99 (plus tax). Reservations are encouraged by calling 403-571-9733. Chrysler Club doors open at 2:30 p.m.
