Cade Fairchild Earns NHL Recall

St. Louis Blues Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today the club has recalled defenseman Cade Fairchild from the Blues' American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, Peoria Rivermen.

Fairchild, 21, has appeared in 17 games with the Rivermen this season recording six points (two goals, four assists) and an AHL leading +13 rating. The 5'11, 175-pound defenseman spent the last four years at the University of Minnesota where he accrued 93 points (21 goals, 72 assists) in 149 games.

The Duluth, Minnesota native was drafted by the Blues in the fourth round, 96th overall, of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.

In addition, the club placed defenseman Carlo Colaiacovo on Injured Reserve. Colaiacovo suffered a hamstring injury in the Blues' 4-1 win over the Florida Panthers on Thursday, November 17.
