New Britain Rock Cats News Release
New Britain, CT - The New Britain Rock Cats of the Eastern League made a roster move yesterday afternoon.
C Jair Fernandez, the 23-year-old native of Cartagena, Columbia was promoted to Rochester in the International League. The 6'1"/190-pound Fernandez appeared in 47 games for the 2010 Rock Cats and departed with a .265 BA that included 10 Doubles, 1 Triple, 3 HRs, and 15 RBI. Acquired by the Rock Cats' parent club - the Minnesota Twins - in a 2008 trade with Seattle, Fernandez will be making his first appearance at the Triple-A classification when he pulls on Red Wings jersey.
