Potomac Nationals News Release
The Washington Organization announced that C Brian Peacock has been placed on the DL. His spot on the roster has been taken by C Sean Rooney from Harrisburg (AA - Eastern League).
Peacock suffered a compound fracture of his right pinky yesterday in a 6-1 victory at Pfitzner Stadium against the Kinston Indians. In the 4th inning, Peacock successfully stole second base but on the play Kinston 2B Karexon Sanchez had one of his spikes land on the right pinky of the Potomac catcher.
Peacock was immediately rushed to a local hospital where last night he underwent successful surgery.
Rooney has spent this year mostly with the Harrisburg Senators. He also spent time with Syracuse (AAA - International League). Last season, Rooney hit .300 in 60 games with Potomac before being promoted to Harrisburg.
