Waterloo Black Hawks News Release

Waterloo, Iowa-Enjoying the hard work of local food- and beverage-makers can help Waterloo hockey fans play harder at Black Hawks games in February. The team introduced its "Waterloo Black Hawks Buy Local" promotion Friday, which will give fans a chance to win hockey tickets and other great prizes.

"Going to the store looking for groceries made in Iowa is good for everyone," said Waterloo Black Hawks President Doug Miller. "It's good for the local economy, it's good for the environment to not have something trucked across the country, and I think folks who try Fit-Pop popcorn and Hub City beer will agree that they're just good in general."

The "Waterloo Black Hawks Buy Local" partners are Mrs. Clark's Foods in Ankeny, Cheryl's Fresh Salsa in Wellman, Hub City Brewing Company in Stanley, and Fit-Pop Popcorn in Cedar Falls.

Fans who pick up selected items from these Iowa companies will have the opportunity to spin the Waterloo Black Hawks prize wheel during one of five February home games. Tickets, team memorabilia, and exciting mystery prizes will be among the goodies on the prize wheel. Details about the specific products to look for and the official rules are included in the accompanying entry form.
