Butler Leads Sky Sox over Zephyrs, 9-4

OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma -- Brent Butler finished with three hits, scored three runs and produced an RBI for the fourth straight game in the Colorado Springs Sky Sox' 9-4 victory over the New Orleans Zephyrs on Tuesday Night in Colorado Springs.

Butler hit an RBI double to spark a three-run second inning, singled and scored in the fourth and added a run-scoring base hit in the fifth to give a 7-0 lead to Colorado Springs. Choo Freeman hit a two-run single and Wendell Magee clubbed his second home run of the season to plate a pair of runs for the Sky Sox, who have won three of their last four games. Jason Young (6-5) tossed six scoreless innings, scattering four hits, issuing four walks and striking out a pair to earn the win.

Jason Alfaro hit a two-run homer and Carlos Hernandez finished with two hits, including an RBI double, for New Orleans. Bob Scanlan (0-5) surrendered six runs and eight hits in four innings to suffer the loss for the Zephyrs, who fell to 5-4 on the current road trip.

The Zephyrs continue the four game series against the Colorado Springs Sky Sox in Colorado Springs on Wednesday at 8:05 PM. Doug Sessions (5-3, 2.77) is scheduled to start for the Zephyrs and Cory Vance (8-8, 4.62) for the Sky Sox. The Z's are 5-4 on the current 12 game road trip and trail Nashville by five games in the PCL Eastern Division.
