1,000+ Scouts To Spend Night At The Ballpark Saturday
July 30, 2003 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Nashville Sounds News Release
NASHVILLE â On Saturday, August 2nd, the Nashville Sounds and the Boy Scouts of Middle Tennessee are teaming up to host the Third Annual "Camp Greer" at Greer Stadium. Several members of the local Scouting community will watch the Sounds take on the Colorado Springs Sky Sox (AAA-Rockies), then cap off the evening by spending a night on the diamond under the stars.
The night was planned to give the Cub and Boy Scouts of the area a chance to have a different outing than what they are used to.
"Camp Greer" consists of an all-you-can-eat buffet before the game, a game ticket, the overnight stay, and breakfast the next morning. The Sounds hosted their first such event during the 2001 season with 400 participants; the number increased to 600 last season.
Over 1,000 scouts and parents are expected to be in attendance for Saturday' s game.
Members of Cub Scout and Boy Scout troops through the Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky regions will be well represented at Greer Stadium.
Packs and troops from as far north as Bowling Green, Ky, to as far south as Atlanta, Georgia, are expected to participate in this year's "Camp Greer".
