Bulls Snap Gens' Win Streak

Belleville, Ontario - The Generals couldn't close out the Bulls in Belleville on Wednesday night, but they did take an important point. They fell 3-2 in overtime before a crowd of 2,503 at the Yardmen Arena. Jake Worrad potted the overtime winner, ending Oshawa's win streak at 4 games. With the point, Oshawa moves into a tie with Mississauga for 6th in the Eastern Conference standings. They also stay 2 points ahead of Belleville; each team still has 2 more games to play.

Oshawa opened the scoring when Christian Thomas stepped into some history at 17:29. Thomas' 33rd of the season put the Generals up 1-0 and tied him with Marc Savard for 5th all time in franchise scoring.

Brendan Gaunce evened the score in the second, but the Generals quickly took back the advantage when Geoffrey Schemitsch made it 2-1. T

he Bulls scored an even strength equalizer at 5:38 in the third when Austin tied the game at 2. Oshawa outshot Belleville 37-30 in regulation, but the game was headed for overtime, where the Generals fell 3-2.

Christian Thomas received the second star selection. Christian Thomas' first period goal ties him with Lucas Lessio for the team lead, they each have 33. More importantly, Thomas' 132nd goal as a General ties him with Marc Savard for 5th all time on the franchise scoring list. Congratulations Christian!

Oshawa returns home to finish the season, playing back-to-back home games this upcoming weekend.

This Saturday March 17th, the Generals take on the Majors in a St. Patrick's Day battle. Puck drops at 7:05 PM at the General Motors Centre in Oshawa. The game could very well determine which team finishes 6th.

This Sunday March 18th, Oshawa closes out the regular season vs. the Petes at the GMC. Start time is 6:05 PM.
