The Storm traveled to London on Thursday night for the first of two back to back games against the Knights. Tyler Bertuzzi took an early penalty, but the Knights powerplay was unable to capitalize. London opened the scoring late in the first period as Seth Griffith scored his 45th goal of the season. The Knights would add another goal at 6:12 of the second, and took a 2-0 lead to the dressing room. Jason Dickinson scored his 11th of the year 41 seconds into the third period to cut the Knights lead in half. It would be the only power play goal of the game. Jared Knight scored his second of the game and 25th of the season to regain the two goal lead for London. The home side would add one more goal late in the game, and win 4-1. Guelph was 1/5 on the powerplay while London went 0/7.

The Storm took to the ice at the Sleeman Centre Friday night to host the Knights in the final game of their home-and-home series. The first period was dominated by the Knights. Scoring 3 powerplay goals, and one at even strength the Knights took a strong 4-0 lead to the dressing room at intermission. Guelph made a goaltender change to start the second period and fans got to see Brandon Foote between the pipes for 40 minutes. Foote would only let in one goal in the second period. Brock McGinn finally got the Storm on the board with a powerplay goal at 5:05 of the third. It was too little too late for the home side and London beat the Storm for the second time in as many nights.

Sunday the Storm made their final trip to Erie this season to take on the Otters. Brock McGinn opened the scoring on the powerplay at 15:24 of the first period. Hunter Garlent would tap another home just over two minutes later. McGinn notched his second of the night, and second powerplay goal of the night midway through the second frame. Erie finally got on the board 47 seconds after McGinn's goal. Jason Dickinson would regain the lead for the Storm, getting his 12th of the year at 19:20 of the second period. The third frame would prove to be a see saw affair, and had Storm fans wondering if there would be a third shootout between these two clubs. Scott Kosmachuk took a double minor early in the period, and Erie took full advantage scoring twice to bring them within a goal. Kosmachuk redeemed himself and scored at 15:20, giving the Storm a two goal lead late in the game. Erie kept Storm fans nervous, and answered back 1:32 later. Zack Mitchell sealed the deal for the Storm and scored an empty net goal with less than a minute to go in the game. The Storm left Erie with two important points in their playoff push. Both teams went 2/5 on the powerplay.

Storm Forecast

The Guelph Storm host the Erie Otters tonight at 7:00pm and will kick off their home-and-home series against Owen Sound on Friday night at the Sleeman Centre. Puck Drops at 7:30pm.

Just over $5,300 was raised to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters Guelph!

The Guelph Storm and the University of Guelph have teamed up to fight Childhood Cancer.

Storm players Spencer Turcotte, Cody McNaughton and Jason Dickinson have shaved their heads! Thanks to the generosity of Storm fans, we have reached (and surpassed) our goal of $1,000 to fight Childhood Cancer! Final numbers will be released in the coming weeks.

Donations are still appreciated to support Spencer, Cody and Jason as they stand in solidarity with those fighting Cancer.

CARSTAR Collision Expert of the Year

The list of players has been narrowed down to just three nominees and it's up to Storm fans to determine who is most deserving of the title. Fans can vote for either Cody McNaughton,

Tyler Bertuzzi or Andrey Pedan to be the CARSTAR Collision Expert of the Year.

Fans can also vote for the CARSTAR Collision Expert of the Year at the Fan Satisfaction Table behind Section 115 at Wednesday and Friday Night's game.

Champions for Education School Visits:

Throughout the season, Storm players like to visit local elementary schools to present the Champions for Education program. They present the Fun Fit program which focuses on healthy active living, and why it is important as an athlete and a student. Players also present the Read to Succeed program to primary students and reinforce the concept of literacy, school, community, respect, excellence and anti-bullying.

Champions for Education visits have wrapped up for the 2011-2012 season!
