
Bulls shell Skychiefs with six blasts, win 10-5

Durham NC - Durham slammed six home runs, two by International League leader Kevin Witt, on their way to a 10-5 victory over the Syracuse SkyChiefs on Sunday evening at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park. Along with Witt, Luis Rivas, Darnell McDonald, Rodney Nye and B.J. Upton also homered to give the Bulls a record for the team since jumping to Triple-A in 1998.
Witt's two homers jumped his IL lead to 22 on the season. Delmon Young went 2-4 with two runs scored to raise his batting average to a team-high .378, as eight of the nine starters hit safely in the game, and five Bulls had mult-hit games. The Bulls have now collected 13 hits in each of the three games of this home stand.
Scott Dunn (1-0) picked up the win for the Bulls, pitching two innings while allowing one run on five hits and a walk, while striking out four. Jason Scobie (1-12) took the loss for the SkyChiefs, going three and two-thirds innings while allowing nine earned runs on 10 hits and two walks, while striking out five.
