
Bulls Fall in OT to IceRays

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX - The Amarillo Bulls fired 46 shots on goal but it wasn't enough as the Corpus Christi IceRays scored midway through overtime and beat the visitors 3-2 at American Bank Center on Saturday night.
It was a tightly played game throughout as the score would indicate. However, it was the Bulls who at times controlled much of action but couldn't beat goaltender Anthony Stolarz.
The game was even 1-1 through 40 minutes. Corpus Christi took a 2-1 lead early in the third period, but Mullan got the Bulls even with his second of the game. Jude Warner notched an assist at 12:51.
In overtime, Amarillo had a couple of opportunities but Corpus Christi shot the puck from the point that his something on the way through to beat Gregg Gruehl.
It was a good first period for the Amarillo Bulls as they fired 16 shots on net and scored once. Omar Mullan was left alone in the slot area and fired the puck behind the IceRays goaltender at the 10:47 mark. Matt Johnson got an assist on the goal.
The second period was dominated by the Bulls but they couldn't get it past goaltender Anthony Stolarz who played well. The IceRays tied the game up 1-1 in the final five minutes on an even strength tally.
Each team had four power play opportunities in the game and neither team would score. The Bulls outshot Corpus Christi 46-29.
