Bulls Blank Ice Wolves in Teddy Bear Toss Victory

December 14, 2019 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
Amarillo Bulls News Release

Amarillo, TX - A second consecutive shutout for Charlie Glockner and the Teddy Bear Toss goal from Ty Black would power the Amarillo Bulls to a 3-0 win over the New Mexico Ice Wolves.

The Bulls came out with number of quality chances in the opening period, but Garrett Mackay answered the call for the Ice Wolves, turning aside the chances. Late in the period, Ty Black deflected a pass into the neutral zone and tucked home a breakaway for the opening goal of the game and the spark of the annual Teddy Bear Toss.

The second period would see the Bulls continue their dominance in the shooting game, and they would be rewarded when Lauri Sertti fired a low shot from the blue line to give the Bulls the 2-0 lead.

The game was put on ice, late in the third period, when Jordan Venegoni backhanded home the empty net goal to secure the 3-0 victory.

Charlie Glockner would stop 15 of 15 shots while earning his league leading, sixth shutout of the season and his fourth straight blanking of the Ice Wolves. He now holds an 9-1-1-2 record.

With the win, the Bulls are now 20-5-1-2 and hold 43 points and second place in the South Division.

The Bulls will remain at home to the Budweiser Bull Pen on Sunday, December 14 to take on the New Mexico Ice Wolves. Mark Shelley will broadcast the game from the Spicy Mike's Bar-B-Q Broadcast Booth, and the action will begin at 7:05PM CST on 107.1 Nash Icon and Hockey TV.
