Game Highlights - The Crosscutters bullpen twirled six scoreless frames, as Williamsport earned a Sudden Death win over the State College Spikes on Friday night.
Matthew Etzel scored a pair of runs and drove in a run in the win. The Cutters left fielder finished the night 1-for-4 with a double (7) and and RBI (21).
Michael Gupton recorded and RBI in the win, finishing the night 1-for-3 with a walk and a double. The double was his first of the season.
Sal Fusco, Riley Ornido, Nick Palumbo and Andrew Walling tossed six scoreless frames of relief, combining to allow two hits and a walk, striking out five. Fusco and Walling each worked two innings a piece.
Jacob Peaden retired all three batters he faced in the Sudden Death session, closing out the win for the Cutters, who are now 3-1 in Sudden Death, including a 3-0 mark against the Spikes
With the win, the Cutters are a perfect 6-0 on Fridays in 2022, with a 4-0 mark at home.
With the game being decided in Sudden Death, there are no pitchers of record and the score will show a tie. The win and loss will be added in the standings.
