
Bullfrogs to Play Doubleheader Following Sweep

Green Bay, Wis.- The Green Bay Bullfrogs will be on the road tonight for a doubleheader against the Wisconsin Woodchucks following yesterday's 7-2 victory over the Madison Mallards at Joannes Stadium.
The Bullfrogs outhit the Mallards 11-2 in the game, as Green Bay completed its first sweep of the season and improved to 8-8.
Bullfrogs' starter Parker Hamilton boosted his record to 1-1, and his earned run average stands at 1.10 on the season. Hamilton allowed one earned run on two hits and three walks and struck out four batters in six innings of work.
Madison's starter Matt Bower came into the game with a 0.69 earned run average, but the Bullfrogs hit him hard early. Bower picked up the loss in 2 2/3 innings and allowed six runs on seven hits and a walk. He also struck out two batters for the Mallards.
Madison jumped out to a 1-0 lead in top of the first inning with an unearned run, but the Bullfrogs sent eight batters to the plate in the bottom half of the inning to score four runs. Connor Ross picked up a two-RBI single in the inning, Matthew De La Rosa hit a run-scoring double and scored on a sacrifice bunt by Desi Ammons.
With two outs in the third, Ammons picked up his first hit of the season with a double to rightfield to score Ryan Donovan. Ammons scored three batters later on a fielder's choice to the shortstop hit by Logan Taylor to extend the Bullfrogs' lead to 6-1.
Mallards' rightfielder Anthony Gonsolin connected on a solo home run over the left-centerfield wall in the top of the sixth to cut the deficit to four.
In the bottom half of the inning, Donovan smashed a RBI triple to deep centerfield to give the Bullfrogs a 7-2 advantage.
The Bullfrogs will turn to their ace Garrett Harrison tonight in Game 1 of the doubleheader against the Woodchucks in Wausau. Harrison comes into tonight's contest with a 2.21 earned run average in three starts.
Harrison's last start came in Madison on June 9. He did not have a decision in the 5-3 loss, as he allowed two runs on six hits and two walks. He also struck out two batters in five innings of work.
Simon Mathews will be making his third start and fourth appearance of the season for the Woodchucks. Mathews has a 2.76 earned run average in 13 innings pitched.
The Bullfrogs will return to Joannes Stadium to play the Woodchucks again tomorrow night. First pitch will be at 7:05 p.m. Gates open one hour prior to the game, and fans can receive a Miller Lite hat as they enter the stadium.
