
Bullfrogs Finish Home-And-Home with Rafters at Joannes

Green Bay, Wis. - After a three-game road trip, the Green Bay Bullfrogs return to Joannes Stadium on Sunday to finish their two-game home-and-home series with the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters. Over the past nine games, the Bullfrogs have played eight on the road, and after Sunday's games, will hit the road once again for two more games.
On Saturday night in Wisconsin Rapids for the first leg of the home-and-home series, the Bullfrogs scored four runs in the fifth inning to pull ahead 6-3 and eventually won 8-3. Green Bay cashed in on three Rafters errors, scoring five unearned runs throughout the game. Brian Celsi (California) won Northwoods League Player of the Night honors for his performance on Saturday as he went 3-for-5 with three RBI, two runs scored, a double, and a home run. Mike Ellenbest (Saginaw Valley State) picked up the win for the Bullfrogs on Saturday after he threw five innings and gave up just one earned run on eight hits.
The Bullfrogs will now look to sweep the two-game series with Wisconsin Rapids on Sunday and will hand the ball off to Corey Fischer (Madison College). The Kansas State commit and Denmark, Wisconsin native will be making his ninth start of the season for Green Bay and currently owns a 2-3 record with 4.05 ERA. Fischer has struck out 33 batters while walking just 14 over 44.1 innings of work on the season. His last win came on July 11th when he did not surrender a run and gave up only two hits in seven innings to the Battle Creek Bombers.
Connor McClain (Central Arkansas) will oppose Fischer on the mound for the Rafters. McClain has appeared in eight games for Wisconsin Rapids and will be making his first start of the season on Sunday. In nine and one-third innings of work, McClain has amassed a 0-1 record with a 12.53 ERA. His last appearance came on July 31st against Thunder Bay when he gave up four runs on seven hits in two innings to the Border Cats.
First pitch on Sunday is scheduled for 5:05 p.m. from Joannes Stadium.
