
Bullfrogs Face Divisional Leader Rafters in Two Game Series

Green Bay, Wis. - Yesterday the Bullfrogs played their best baseball of the season. In a doubleheader against the Wisconsin Woodchucks, the Bullfrogs took both games in the home-home series. The Bullfrogs won the first game 6-5 after trailing going into the seventh inning. Then in the second game they came out swinging and won 13-2.
In game one, Dakota Klein (Texas A&M) got the start, he gave up four runs in four plus innings of work. Three of those runs came in the first inning of the ballgame. The offense would slowly chip away at the Woodchucks lead until the seventh inning when Marcus Shoemaker (Lenoir Rhyne) sent a fastball over the right field fence for a two run home run to tie the ballgame. In the next inning, Laren Eustace (Indiana) drove in the eventual winning run in the bottom of the eight off a double down the right field line. Matt Gunter (Hawaii Pacific) picked up the win after throwing three scoreless innings in relief.
In game two the Bullfrogs got a masterful start from Matt Ellenbest (Morehead State), he gave up one run in seven innings of work and finish the night with five straight scoreless innings. The offense exploded in the game two as the Bullfrogs scored 13 runs on 16 hits. Shoemaker led the way with four hits and four RBIs and Austin Clemons (Louisville) had three hits respectfully.
Today the Bullfrogs face the south divisional leaders, the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters, in a two game series on the road. On the mound for the Bullfrogs will be newcomer Ethan Westpahl. Westpahl is a right hander out of the University of Central Missouri. The Rafters send Chris Cooper to the mound, he is 4-0 with a 0.37 ERA.
First pitch is at 7:05pm.
