Brantford Bulldogs News Release

HAMILTON, ONTARIO - Adam Laishram had two goals for the Hamilton Bulldogs (25-33-8-0) as they defeated the Niagara IceDogs (33-26-3-3) 4-1 at the FirstOntario Centre on Sunday afternoon.

It took until 17:20 of the first period for the opening goal in this one as a pass out front by Trent Fox ricocheted off a Niagara defender and into the IceDogs goal. Ondrej Kachyna had the lone assist on Fox's twenty-eighth of the year.

Bulldogs leading point getter Matt Luff put the 'Dogs ahead by two with a rifle of a wrist shot over the glove hand of Niagara starting goaltender Alex Nedeljkovic. Matthew Strome had the lone assist on Luff's twenty-fifth of the year at 13:34.

Just over three minutes later Laishram stripped the Niagara defenceman in the offensive zone and lifted the puck over Nedeljkovic to put the Bulldogs ahead 3-0.

Niagara got to within two at 6:38 of the third as an intended pass out front by forward Johnny Corneil, hit a Bulldogs defender and eluded Hamilton goalie Connor Hicks. Corneil's nineteenth of the year was assisted by Graham Knott and Josh Ho-Sang at 6:38.

Laishram's second goal of the game, at 18:47, iced this one for the 'Dogs as a strong individual effort saw him put the puck into the empty cage. The goal was unassisted.

Hicks made 26 saves in the win for Hamilton, while Nedeljkovic made 25 saves in the loss.

Hamilton went 0-for-3 with the power-play, while Niagara went 0-for-2 with the man advantage.

The Bulldogs head onto the road for their final two games of the regular season beginning with a visit to TD Place on Friday night to take on the Ottawa 67's. Puck drop is 7:00 p.m.
