Bulldogs Sign Matt Grassi to A.T.O.

HAMILTON, ONT - Hamilton Bulldogs General Manager Marc Bergevin announced today that the Bulldogs have signed defenceman Matt Grassi to an Amateur Try-Out Contract. As per club policy, financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Grassi, 24, played 41 games this season for Michigan State University of the Central Collegiate Hockey Association recording three points (1 goal, 2 assists) and 22 penalty minutes. The 6'4", 220-pound defenceman spent a total of four seasons with Michigan State from 2009-2013 registering 19 points (3 goals, 16 assists) and 101 penalty minutes in 121 regular season games. The native of Burnaby, British Columbia played three seasons from 2006-2009 with the Salmon Arm Silverbacks of the British Columbia Hockey League posting 75 points (12 goals, 63 assists) and 77 penalty minutes in 144 regular season games.

The Bulldogs' next game is against the Abbotsford Heat at Copps Coliseum on Wednesday, March 27th at 7:30 p.m. All 'Dogs games will be broadcast on Hamilton's Funny 820 (AM 820). Fans can also listen to and watch all 'Dogs games on www.hamiltonbulldogs.com. Live coverage with the broadcast team of Play-By-Play Announcer Derek Wills (all home and away games) and Colour Commentator Al Craig (all home and select away games) will begin with the Pioneer Pre-Game Show 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start time.
