WEEK IN REVIEW

Friday, March 22nd : Portland 5, St. John's 2

Jordan Szwarz scored twice, including once on a penalty shot, and the Pirates defeated the IceCaps by a 5-2 score. Mark Visentin made 31 saves in his return from injury, and Alexandre Bolduc, Chris Brown, and Andy Miele all added goals.

Saturday, March 23rd : St. John's 4, Portland 1

Nick Johnson scored his first Pirates goal just 1:37 into the game, but the IceCaps scored 4 unanswered to defeat the Pirates 4-1 in their final trip to the Cumberland County Civic Center this season.

Sunday, March 24th : at Adirondack 4, Portland 2

Portland fell behind just 9 seconds into the game, setting a team record for fastest goal allowed, but were able to retake the lead before Adirondack scored three unanswered in the second period to take the 4-2 win. Brendan Shinnimin and Jordan Martinook had the Pirates goals.

THIS COMING WEEK

Wednesday, March 27th vs. Providence (7 PM)

The Pirates and Bruins will clash in a battle of 1 vs. 2 in the Atlantic Division on Wednesday night. Puck is set to drop at 7 PM for the final matchup between the two teams during the regular season.

Friday, March 29th vs. Manchester (7 PM)

The Pirates will host the Manchester Monarchs for the final home VIP Cup Game, presented by VIP Parts, Tires, and Service. Puck drop is set for 7 PM. Manchester currently holds a 6-5 advantage in VIP Cup game wins. It will also be Dash for Cash night presented by UCU!

Saturday, March 30th at Albany (7 PM)

Portland will travel to the Times Union Center in Albany for the only time this season on Saturday. Puck drop is set for 7 PM. The Pirates defeated the Devils 2-0 in their only other matchup this season.

Practice will be held at the Cumberland County Civic Center at 10:30 AM on Tuesday and Thursday and is open to the public.

SALTY PETE'S PIRATES OF THE WEEK

1) Nick Johnson scored his first career goal as a Pirate in Saturday's contest, and is on a 3 game point streak after tallying a point in all three contests this weekend

2) David Rundblad is on a 6 game point streak, having scored 2 goals and 5 assists over his last 6 games

3) Chris Conner had 3 assists this weekend, including two against St. John's Friday night
