
Bulldogs Sign Dean Ouellet to P.T.O.

HAMILTON, ONT - Hamilton Bulldogs General Manager Marc Bergevin announced today that the Bulldogs have signed forward Dean Ouellet to a Professional Try-Out Contract. As per club policy, financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed. The Bulldogs have also assigned forward Alexander Avtsin to the Wheeling Nailers of the ECHL.
Ouellet, 25, has played 66 games this season for the San Francisco Bulls of the ECHL registering 52 points (24 goals, 28 assists) and 75 penalty minutes ranking first on the team in assists and second in goals and points. The 5'11", 184-pound forward played four seasons for the University of Moncton from 2008-2012 recording 118 points (49 goals, 69 assists) and 104 penalty minutes in 109 regular season games. Ouellet led the University of Moncton in scoring during the 2010-2011 (30 points) and 2011-2012 (34 points) seasons. The native of Edmunston, New Brunswick spent a total of four seasons playing for the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League from 2004-2008 posting 258 points (107 goals, 151 assists) and 292 penalty minutes in 250 regular season games.
Avtsin, 22, played 15 games for the Bulldogs this season recording five points (2 goals, 3 assists) and four penalty minutes.
The Bulldogs' next game is against the Crunch in Syracuse on Friday, March 22nd at 7:30 p.m. All 'Dogs games will be broadcast on Hamilton's Funny 820 (AM 820).
