ANAHEIM, Calif. - The Anaheim Ducks, NHL parent club of the Norfolk Admirals, have signed left wing Patrick Maroon to a two-year contract extension through the 2014-15 NHL season. Per club policy, no financial terms of the deal were disclosed.

Maroon, 24 (4/23/88), has appeared in 11 games for Anaheim this season, scoring two goals (2-02) with 10 penalty minutes (PIM). He scored the game-tying goal in a 2-1 victory on Mar. 12 at Minnesota and tallied his first career NHL goal on Feb. 16 at Nashville, beating Pekka Rinne in an eventual 3-2 shootout win. A native of St. Louis, MO, Maroon has earned 17-2239 points with 115 PIM in 51 games with Norfolk this season. Earning AHL Player of the Week honors for the period ending Mar. 10, Maroon currently co-leads the Admirals in scoring, and ranks second in goals and assists.

Acquired from Philadelphia with David Laliberte in exchange for Danny Syvret and Rob Bordson on Nov. 21, 2010, Maroon has appeared in 13 career NHL games with Anaheim, collecting 2-02 points with 12 PIM. He has also played six American Hockey League (AHL) seasons with Philadelphia (2007-09), Adirondack (2009-10), Syracuse (2010-12) and Norfolk (2012-13), earning 109-158267 points with a +3 rating and 520 PIM in 340 games.
