Bulldogs' Season Ends with 4-2 Loss to Stars in Game 7

Hamilton, ON - The Hamilton Bulldogs were defeated by the Texas Stars 4-2 on Wednesday night in front of 5,121 fans at Copps Coliseum. With the loss, the Bulldogs are eliminated from the 2010 Calder Cup Playoffs while the Texas Stars move on to face the Hershey Bears in the Calder Cup Finals.

The Bulldogs opened the game's scoring at 19:51 of the first period. Aaron Palushaj received the puck from J.T. Wyman before snapping a shot on net that was saved by Texas starting goaltender Matt Climie. The rebound bounced onto the stick of David Desharnais. Desharnais fired the puck past Climie and into the net.

The ‘Dogs took a 2-0 lead at 5:32 of the second stanza. P.K. Subban blasted a shot from the point that was stopped by Climie. Max Pacioretty picked up the loose rebound before backhanding the puck past Climie and into the net.

The Stars got on the scoreboard at 14:38 of the middle frame. Ethan Graham received a pass from Warren Peters before dumping the puck into the Bulldogs' zone. The puck took an awkward bounced which fooled Hamilton starting goaltender Curtis Sanford. The puck trickled past the goaltender and across the goal line.

Texas tied the game 2-2 at 9:15 of the third period. Perttu Lindgren gave the puck to Mathieu Beaudoin, who was positioned in the slot. Beaudoin snapped a shot past Sanford and into the back of the net. Lindgren gave the Stars a 3-2 lead at 14:00. Beaudoin skated down the right side boards before sending the puck into the middle of the ice. Lindgren batted the puck out of mid-air and past Sanford. Jamie Benn sealed the win for Texas with a goal at 18:33. Colton Sceviour carried the puck into the Bulldogs' zone before sending a pass across the ice to Jamie Benn. Benn tapped the puck past Sanford and into the net.
