
Bulldogs Lose 5-4 Decision to Admirals

Hamilton, ON - The Hamilton Bulldogs were defeated 5-4 by the Milwaukee Admirals at Copps Coliseum Thursday night. The loss extends the âDogs losing streak to three games.
The Bulldogs opened the scoring at 8:03 of the first frame while on the power play. Ben Maxwell fired a shot at the net that Milwaukee starting goaltender Drew MacIntyre saved. Mike Glumac picked up the loose rebound and shovelled the puck underneath MacIntyre for his ninth goal of the season. 37 seconds after the first goal, Ryan Russell added a marker on a similar play. Russell grabbed a loose rebound before burying the puck past MacIntyre. Glumac added his second goal of the game at 10:31. While stationed at the side of the net, Glumac picked up the puck and snapped a shot past the blocker of MacIntyre.
Following the Bulldogs' third goal, MacIntyre was pulled in favour of Mark Dekanich.
Mike Santorelli got the Admirals on the scoreboard with a power-play goal at 12:38 of the opening stanza. Santorelli rifled a shot from the top of the left circle. The puck squeaked between the blocker and right pad of Hamilton starting goaltender Marc Denis to make the game 3-1. Milwaukee earned their second goal at 14:25. Jed Ortmeyer gained control of the puck behind the net before sending a pass to Stephen Werner, who one-timed the puck past Denis. He Admirals added their third goal to tie the game at 15:23. Following a few mishaps by the âDogs in their own zone, Santorelli fired a shot that beat Denis.
Milwaukee added their fourth unanswered goal at 6:10 of the second stanza. Santorelli sent the puck to the front of the net, where Ryan Jones got his stick on it, to tip the puck past Denis and give the Admirals a 4-3 lead.
Dan Jancevski earned his first goal of the season at 16:10 of the second stanza. Kyle Chiphura and Jancevski skated in on a 2-on-1 before Chipchura fed a pass to Jancevski, who one-timed the puck over the blocker of Dekanich and into the top of the net.
Jones added his second goal of the game at 8:00 of the final frame to give the Admirals a 5-4 lead. Jones raced behind the net before wrapping around and firing the puck into the top of the net. Hamilton attempted to tie the game when they pulled Denis in favour of an extra skater but were denied by Milwaukee, as the Admirals held on to win the game 5-4.
