CLEVELAND, OH - The Hamilton Bulldogs took 2-1 series lead in their AHL North Division Semi-Finals series on Tuesday night as they defeated the Cleveland Barons 5-3 at the Gund Arena.
Jimmie Olvestad led the way offensively for the Bulldogs as he scored two of Hamilton's five goals on the night. The goals scored by Olvestad were his first since January 28th.
Also scoring for Hamilton were Alexander Perezhogin, Eero Somervuori and Francois Beauchemin. In each of the Bulldogs three playoff games, Perezhogin has scored a goal.
In goal, Jean-Francois Damphousse picked up his second AHL Playoff win, by making 24 saves on the night. Barons' goaltender Nolan Schaefer stopped 35 shots in the Cleveland loss.
For the third straight game the Bulldogs scored on the power play. Hamilton earned one goal on four power play opportunities. The Barons scored once on six opportunities with the man-advantage.
The Hamilton Bulldogs will face the Cleveland Barons in Game #4 of their AHL North Division Semi-Finals on Thursday, April 29th at the Gund Arena in Cleveland.
