Bulldogs Defeated 4-1 By Monsters

Cleveland, OH - The Hamilton Bulldogs were defeated by the Lake Erie Monsters 4-1 in Cleveland on Saturday night. The Monsters scored three third period goals as the ‘Dogs dropped their second straight game to the Lake Erie.

The Monsters opened the game's scoring at 16:21 of the first frame while on the power play. Julien Brouillette blasted a shot that bounced off the back glass and out to the front of the net to Patrick Rissmiller. Rissmiller snapped a shot that beat Hamilton starting goaltender Curtis Sanford.

The ‘Dogs tied the game 1-1 at 18:56 of the second stanza. Ben Maxwell received a pass from Brett Festerling before sending the puck to Aaron Palushaj. Palsuhaj proceeded to whack the puck past Lake Erie starting goaltender John Grahame.

Mark Olver gave the Monsters a 2-1 lead at 1:07 of the final frame. Justin Mercier dropped the puck to Olver, who rifled a shot past the glove of Sanford and into the net. Lake Erie took a 3-1 lead at 9:56 with a power-play goal. Julian Talbot sent the puck to Ben Walter, who was positioned in the right corner. Walter skated to the front of the net before stuffing the puck past Sanford and across the goal line. Rissmiller added an empty net goal for the Monsters at 19:04 to seal the win.

The Bulldogs will return to the ice on Friday, February 4th when they travel to Grand Rapids to battle the Griffins for a 7:00 p.m. game. All regular season Hamilton Bulldogs broadcasts on AM 820 CHAM will begin with a pre-game show 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start time.
