B-Sens Release Forward Andrew Sweetland

Binghamton Senators News Release


BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The Binghamton Senators announced today that they have released forward Andrew Sweetland from his professional try-out contract.

Sweetland, 24, signed with the B-Sens on Jan. 16, appearing in Binghamton's 2-1 victory over the Hershey Bears that same evening at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena. In five games with the B-Sens Sweetland recorded one goal and was a plus-two.

The native of Bonavista, Newfoundland will return to the Elmira Jackals of the ECHL. Sweetland has appeared in 30 games this season for the Jackals, recording 17 goals, four assists and adding ten penalty minutes.

The Binghamton Senators host the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins tonight at 7:05 p.m. Tonight is Public Safety Night and features a special 4:30 p.m. match-up between the Binghamton police and fire departments and the Wilkes-Barre area police and fire departments. For $15 fans receive admission to both games and a portion of each ticket sold will go to benefit the American Heart Association. A limited number of tickets remain.
