Brantford Bulldogs News Release
The Bulldogs finished up a busy stretch of four games in six days with a Family Day 7-5 win over the Barrie Colts at FirstOntario Centre giving the Black and Gold six out of a possible eight points.
The Colts notched the first goal of the game near the half-way point of the 1st period but less than 2 minutes later Isaac Nurse (11) batted the puck out of mid-air to tie things up, followed by Jan Jenik walking in an around the Colts defence to give Hamilton a 2-1 lead after 20 minutes.
Things heated up in the 2nd period as Barrie picked up two goals in under six minutes, including a short-hander, to take a 3-2 lead. However, just 21-seconds later, Jake Gravelle (3) wired one from the point and then Arthur Kaliyev (46) tapped one in to pull the Bulldogs back in the lead at 4-3. The Colts then tied it up once more on the power-play but Liam Van Loon (7) restored the Bulldogs lead to close out the period 5-4.
The Bulldogs then outscored Barrie 2-1 in the 3rd with Arthur Kaliyev (47) getting his second of the day and the eventual game winner just 48-seconds into the period with Isaac Nurse (12) adding some insurance late with his second of the game on the power-play to finish off the scoring.
