HAMILTON, ONTARIO- The Hamilton Bulldogs offense caught fire early and rolled to a 7-4 win over the Battalion in North Bay Thursday night.
Over a span of 3:27 of the first period, the Bulldogs pumped in five goals to open up a 5-0 lead.
Mackenzie Entwistle (6), Niki Petti (5), Connor Roberts (1), Marian Studenic (3) and Matt Luff (7) provided the offence. For Roberts, the rookie scored his first OHL goal.
The Battalion scored on the power-play at 10:45 as the first period ended 5-1 Hamilton.
North Bay cut the lead to 5-2 early in the second before the Bulldogs scored two more to make it 7-2. Will Bitten (1) and Matthew Strome (5) took care of the scoring.
The third period saw two goals scored, both from the Battalion.
North Bay out-shot Hamilton 36-25.
The win was the Bulldogs fourth in a row and improves their regular season record to 6-1.
Up next for the Bulldogs, a home and home series against the Sudbury Wolves starting tomorrow night in the Nickel City. The two teams then go at it Saturday night at FirstOntario Centre at 7 pm.
