HAMILTON, ONTARIO. It wasn't pretty as the Hamilton Bulldogs had to battle to the end to beat the last place Flint Firebirds 4-2 Saturday afternoon at FirstOntario Centre.

The Firebirds got the jump on the Bulldogs, scoring the only goal of the 1st period.

On the power-play late in the 2nd period, captain Mackenzie Entwistle (14) jumped on a loose puck to tie the game 1-1.

Brandon Saigeon (21) gave the Bulldogs their first lead of the game with a power-play goal at 1:40 of the 3rd period, but the Firebirds wouldn't go away and tied the game 2-2 at 12:56. The power-play came to the rescue again for Hamilton at 15:41 as Mackenzie Entwistle (15) scored his second of the game to give the Black and Gold a 3-2 lead and then Arthur Kaliyev (22) scored into the empty-net to make the final 4-2.

3 STARS:

1) Mackenzie Entwistle (HAM) 2) Nick Donofrio (HAM) 3) Evan Morrison (FLNT)
