Hamilton Bulldogs News Release

HAMILTON, ON - The Hamilton Bulldogs and Astral Radio Hamilton announced today that they have reached an agreement to broadcast all pre-season, regular season and post-season 'Dogs games on TODAY'S COUNTRY AM 820 CHAM for the next three seasons. The Hamilton Bulldogs Director of Broadcasting and Communications / Play-By-Play Announcer Derek Wills has also re-signed for three seasons (2010-2011, 2011-2012, 2012-2013) to provide the call for all 'Dogs games.

"We're very happy to be renewing our partnership with the Hamilton Bulldogs", said Astral Radio Hamilton Vice President and General Manager Bob Harris. "Bulldogs hockey is some of the most exciting hockey played today and it's a great fit with 820 CHAM's recent return to country music."

Wills, the AHL's James H. Ellery Memorial Award winner in the radio category in 2004-2005, will return for his 10th season as the "Voice of the Hamilton Bulldogs" and will call all pre-season, regular season and all Calder Cup playoff games. Since joining the organization in 2001-2002, Wills has called 819 consecutive regular and post-season 'Dogs games, including the AHL's conference finals four times and the Calder Cup Finals twice. Popular Hamilton sportscaster Al Craig, who was the Bulldogs' Play-By-Play Announcer during their first two seasons in Hamilton, will return for his ninth full season as Colour Commentator for all home games and select road games.

"As an organization, we are extremely excited to announce this three-season extension to our partnership with Astral Radio Hamilton", said Wills. "Personally, it's really hard to believe that I'm entering my 10th season as the Hamilton Bulldogs' Play-By-Play Announcer - time really does fly when you're having fun! I'm really looking forward to once again teaming up with my good friend and colour commentator Al Craig to bring hockey fans in Bulldogs' country every second of every game live on Hamilton's 820 CHAM."

The Bulldogs season gets underway with their first pre-season game at 6:00 p.m. EST on Thursday, September 30th against the Binghamton Senators in Corner Brook, Newfoundland. The 'Dogs will host the Senators for two more pre-season games on Saturday, October 2nd at 12:30 p.m. EST in Grand Falls-Windsor, Newfoundland and on Sunday, October 3rd at 12:30 p.m. EST in St. John's, Newfoundland. All three games can be heard live on TODAY'S COUNTRY AM 820 CHAM (www.820cham.com).

Hamilton will open its 15th American Hockey League season on Friday, October 15th at 7:35 p.m. when they travel to Rochester to battle the Americans. The Bulldogs will then return to Copps Coliseum to host their 2010-2011 home opener on Saturday, October 16th at 4:00 p.m. against the Toronto Marlies. All regular season Hamilton Bulldogs broadcasts will begin with a pre-game show 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start time. All pre-game shows during 'Dogs home games will be broadcast live from the main concourse at Copps Coliseum.
