New Jersey Jackals News Release

Little Falls, NJ - The New Jersey Jackals ended their seven game road trip with a 6-0 blanking of the Elmira Pioneers, thanks to a magical outing by starting pitcher Aaron "Bulldog" Myers.

New Jersey's offense looked magnificent early. With two outs in the top of the first, John Lindsey, Joe Jiannetti, and Rich Gomez drove in RBIs back-to-back-to-back. They continued putting runs up on the board in the second and the third. Ricardo Cordova singled, driving in Nolan Neiman, making it 4-0 New Jersey. In the third, Gomez hit the first homerun for the Jackals in the four game series against Elmira, a two run blast, pushing New Jersey to a 6-0 lead. Their offensive outburst in the first three innings would pave the way for the Jackals win.

Jackal starter Aaron Myers was spectacular. Myers retired the first 10 batters he faced, including four on strikes. He ended up striking out 10 batters total, giving up only 3 hits, and walking one in a complete game shutout.

Rich Gomez went 3-4 with a homerun and three RBIs for the Jackals. Derek Barrows had two of Elmira's three hits.

The Jackals return home Friday to start a three game series with the South Division leading Worcester Tornadoes.
