Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs News Release
SOUTHHAVEN, MS -- The Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs hit the road for their second visit to Memphis this season. Saturday night's game was neck and neck when Daniel Pegoraro fed the puck over to Joe Ori right off the face off in the Memphis zone. Ori threaded a shot by Memphis goaltender Larry Sterling to give the Bugs a 1-0 lead.
Memphis was able to get on the board converting on their third powerplay opportunity. Jason Sessa beat Ken Carroll to even the game 1-1. The Bugs battled right back to ties the game when Chris Gustafson fired a shot from the wing that slipped past Sterling. Gustafson's goal was his first of the season and it put the Bugs back on top by a goal. Memphis later capitalized on a costly turnover at the point during a Bugs powerplay. Ryan Campbell finished a two-on-one scoring a shorthanded goal that tied the game.
A scoreless third period gave way to the second overtime game between Memphis and Bossier-Shreveport this season. Forbes MacPherson fed a puck from the corner to Dan Wildfong who's second shot went by Larry Sterling for the game winner. It was the Mudbugs's first OT win of the season.
