
Bucks Sign Four Pitchers to Temporary Contracts

Waterloo, IA - The Waterloo Bucks, members of the Northwoods League, have announced the signing of four players to temporary contracts for the 2011 season. Ben Cottrell, Brian Cross, Chris Dunn, and Derek Lamacchia are all currently with the team on their road trip to Battle Creek, Michigan.
Ben Cottrell rejoins Waterloo as a right-handed pitcher. Last season for the Bucks, Cottrell finished with a 3.27 ERA, 11 innings pitched, and five strikeouts. The Dubuque, Iowa native is currently a sophomore at Loras College.
Brian Cross is a native of Bloomington, Illinois and attends Clarke University. He is a left-handed pitcher and finished the 2011 college season with a 4.73 ERA, a 2-3 record, and 51.1 innings pitched. Cross is a junior.
Chris Dunn, another left-handed pitcher, also joins the team. Dunnattends Viterbo University and boasted college stats of a 2.87 ERA, a 3-3 record, and 62.2 innings pitched and is also a sophomore.
Another right-handed hurler, Derek Lamacchia also joins the Bucks. Lamacchiais a sophomore at Quinnipiac University and finished the year with a 3.41 ERA, a 4-5 record, and 63.1 innings pitched.
