Lunkers Receive Seven Seals Award from National Guard

(Brainerd Lakes Area) - The Brainerd Lakes Area Lunkers were presented with the Seven Seals Award by the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) at Stewart C. Mills Field on Wednesday. It was Opening Night for the Lunkers as they played host to the Alexandria Beetles.
The award recognizes the services of an organization that has gone the extra mile to support the efforts of the Guard and Reserve. It is given out at the discretion of the ESGR chairman. The award has the seal of the seven guard and reserve branches, including the Army National Guard, the United States Army Reserve, the U.S. Marine Corps Forces Reserve, the Navy Reserve, the Air National Guard, the Air Force Reserve Command and the United States Coast Guard Reserve.
"The Lunkers have gone above and beyond in giving different things to military families and members," said Larry Helsene of the ESGR. "The military members who have served are looking for an outlet in being able to come to the [Lunkers] games, and the Lunkers have provided that option."
The ESGR helps to develop relationships between employers, organizations and the military. They also aid in the reemployment of military service members into civilian jobs.
The Lunkers are allowing all former and current military servicemembers to attend any home game this year for free. All season long, the Lunkers will be holding special ceremonies before and during Monday home games to honor the military and their service to our nation.
