Bucks Lose In Allen, Fall to Fourth

ALLEN, TX- The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League fell to the Allen Americans 4-2 Saturday night at the Allen Event Center. The Bucks lost two straight games in regulation for the first time this season as they fall to 12-6-4 (28 points), while Allen improves to 17-5-1 (35 points). The Bucks drop to fourth place in the Southern Conference thanks to Texas'4-1 win over Tulsa.

Allen jumped out in front of the Bucks as they scored two goals in the first 7:14 of the game to lead 2-0 after one.

Nino Musitelli scored just 51 seconds into the game when he took a drop pass from Bruce Graham at the top of the circle and scored with a snap shot. Musiteli extended his point streak to 17 games.

Allen would increase their lead to 2-0 at the 7:14 mark of the first when Justin Bowers picked up a loose puck at center ice and scored a shorthanded breakaway goal to tally his 11th of the campaign.

The Bucks were outshot in the first period 11-9.

Laredo would cut the Allen lead to 2-1 when they struck on the power-play with 3:03 left in the second period. Lance Monych would bang in a rebound right in front of the Americans net to score his first goal since October 24th against Allen. The strike was Monych's fifth of the season.

The Bucks dominated play in the second period as they outshot the Americans by a 16-5 count.

Musitelli would score his second of the night 12:21 into the third to put Allen up 3-1.

The Bucks then had a goal waved off with 3:12 left in the third period that would have cut the Allen lead to 3-2. The officials ruled that the puck was kicked into the net, when replays of the goal showed otherwise.

Ryan Fairbarn scored an empty net goal with 28 seconds left to make it 4-1 Allen.

Benjamin Dieude-Fauvel made it 4-2 when he scored a power-play goal with just 4.2 seconds left in the game.

Chris Whitley made 34 saves for Allen to get the win, while J.P Levasseur stopped 21 of 24 shots to suffer the loss.

The Bucks failed for the second straight night to get their 300th franchise win.

Laredo is now 0-1-1 against Allen this season.

The Bucks contine their season high four game road trip next Thursday (Dec. 17th) at Corpus Christi.
