Bucks Add to Offense

LAREDO, TX: The Laredo Bucks, of the Central Hockey League, announced Friday that they have signed Matt Pierce for the 2011-2012 season.

Matt Pierce is 26 years old from Binghamton, NY. Matt previously played with the Cincinnati Cyclones (ECHL). Pierce was a member of the Kelly Cup Championship team in 2009-2010. He has also been called up to the American Hockey League twice during his career.

The 5'11", 181 pound forward appeared in 92 regular season games for the Cyclones. Pierce has scored 37 goals and has had 38 assists. He also appeared in 9 playoff games, where he had 4 assists.

"It's great to have Matt in our line-up. He brings a ton of hard work, skill and some AA experience," states Head Coach Serge Dube. "He had really good numbers in college and I expect him to be an impact player."

Matt Pierce will be playing tonight when the Laredo Bucks take on the Texas Brahmas at 7:30pm at the LEA.

The Laredo Bucks have also waived defensemen Matt Rigtrup.

DOCTORS HOSPITAL TOY DRIVE:

The Laredo Bucks are encouraging everyone attending the Saturday, December 3rd game to bring a new unwrapped toy to the game. All toys donated will be distributed to the pediatric patients at Doctors Hospital.
