Buckner promoted to Omaha

WICHITA, Kan. (April 26, 2007) - Billy Buckner was promoted to the Omaha Royals after starting the season in Wichita. Buckner is 1-3 on the season in 4 appearances and has a 4.66 ERA. He pitched in 19.1 innings for the Wranglers giving up 20 hits, 10 earned runs, 4 home runs, 6 walks and struck out 13.

With the departure of Buckner, the Wranglers will pick up right-handed pitcher Carlos Rosa. Rosa split time between Burlington (A) and High Desert (A) in 2006 going 8-7 with a 4.84 ERA. This season he has pitched in 4 games for the Wilmington Blue Rocks (A) going 2-1 with a 0.39 ERA and allowing just 18 hits and an earned run in 23 innings. Rosa has 15 strikeouts on the season.

Kansas City Royals pitcher John Bale has been sent to the Wranglers on a Major League Rehab Assignment. Bale will start Saturday night's game in Springfield against the Cardinals and will be piggybacked by scheduled starter, Mike Connolly.

In 2006, Bale started 5 games and had a total of 30 appearances for the Hiroshima Toyo Carp going 2-1 with a 2.93 ERA. He pitched 43 innings giving up 11 walks while striking out 46. Hudson has been on the Disabled List since April 1 with a shoulder strain.
