Winston-Salem Dash News Release

WINSTON-SALEM, NC - The Winston-Salem Dash announced today that RHP Ryan Buch has been promoted from low-A Kannapolis, and will join the Dash. There is no corresponding roster move at this time.

Buch (pronunciation rhymes with "Duke") started the 2011 season with Kannapolis, where he 4-3 with a 3.65 ERA in eight starts. He led the South Atlantic League with two complete games, the last of which he threw on May 19 against Hagerstown. In that game, he threw five innings before unplayable conditions caused the postponement of the rest of the game. Buch gave two hits and one run in the game. His first complete game was on April 28 in the second game of a doubleheader with Lexington where he threw six innings and allowed three hits and one run.

The Yardley, PA native was selected in the eighth round of the 2009 MLB First-Year Player Draft out of Monmouth University. He started 16 games for Rookie Great Falls in 2009 and went 1-2 with a 3.38 ERA. In 2010, Buch split time between Rookie Bristol and low-A Kannapolis, spending most of the season with the Intimidators. With Kannapolis last year, he registered a 5-3 record with a 3.13 ERA in 24 games (10 starts).

At Monmouth, Buch was named All-NEC in 2007 and 2008, and set the school record for wins by a freshman in 2007 with nine.

The Dash roster now sits at the Carolina League limit of 25 players.
