Bryan Acosta and Szabolcs Schön Called into National Team Duty for World Cup Qualifiers

FRISCO, Texas - FC Dallas midfielder Bryan Acosta (Honduras) and winger Szabolcs Schön (Hungary) have been called up to represent their respective countries in the upcoming FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.

Both players will depart following the Austin FC match on Sunday, Aug. 29.

Acosta, 27, has appeared in 54 regular season matches for FC Dallas since signing with the club in 2019. He's scored two goals and recorded five assists. He has 51 appearances for Los Catrachos, last appearing in the 3-0 loss against Mexico in the 2021 Gold Cup quarterfinals match on July 24.

Schön, 20, has four assists in 12 appearances for FC Dallas since joining the team in April 2021. He made his MLS debut in the 1-1 draw against Texas Derby rival Houston Dynamo FC on May 8, playing the final 24 minutes of the match. Schön earns his second call up to the Hungary National Team after appearing in the UEFA Euro 2020 group stage matches against Portugal and Germany. He has three appearances overall for the Magyars.
