Brummett and Perez heading to Quebec for August 6 All-Star Game

The Elmira Pioneers placed 2 players on the Northern League East All-Star Team.

LHP Sean Brummett (6-2, 2.16) and RHP Julio Perez (0-0, 0.00, 12 saves) will represent the East Division All-Stars in the game in Quebec on August 6.

Brummett is 2nd in the league in ERA currently and is also 3rd in strikeouts with 64 in 79.0ip. He has allowed just 62 hits and opponents are batting just .216 against him. Brummett is a 24-year-old LHP from Brookston, Indiana. The Indiana State University product previously pitched in the Anaheim Angels' organization.

Perez has maintained a perfect 0.00 ERA all season and has allowed just 9 hits in 19.2ip this year. He has recorded 20 K's while walking 7 and is currently tied with Quebec's Mark Cisar for the league lead in saves. Perez has not blown a save opportunity all season. The 23-year-old from Miami, Florida previously pitched in the Montreal Expos organization.

One manager vote and one media vote were cast in each East Division city for the nine starting position players. New Jersey manager George Tsamis was responsible for picking the two substitutes and the entire pitchingstaff. Each team is required to have at least one selection.
