February 9, 2009 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Chilliwack Bruins News Release
The Chilliwack Bruins announced today that the team has signed 1993 born forward Brent Wold to a standard WHL Players Contract. After scoring 63 goals and adding 37 assists in 41 games with the Pinawa Northern Knights Bantam AA team during the 2007/08 season Wold, a native of Lac Du Bonnet Manitoba was selected by the Bruins in the 4th round (73rd overall) of the 2008 WHL Bantam Draft.
The Bruins have now signed their top four picks of the 2008 Bantam Draft.
This season, Wold has 24 goals and 25 assists in 26 games with the Eastman AAA Midget Team of the Winnipeg AAA Midget League.
"Brent has continued to develop this season. He's a strong skater who doesn't shy away from physical contact," stated Bruins Director of Scouting Garry Pochipinski. "He's a natural goal scorer who we think has the ability to be a solid WHL player."
