KENT WA - The Vancouver Giants had their ten game win streak stopped this evening, as the Seattle Thunderbirds defeated the Giants by the score of 4-3.

This game saw four lead changes, as both teams were able to take the lead on two occasions. Casey Pierro-Zabotel opened the scoring in the first minute of the game, as he was able to sneak a wraparound past Seattle goalie Calvin Pickard for his 28th goal of the season. Seattle would answer back midway through the period however, as former Giant Chris Cloud and Thunderbirds Captain Thomas Hickey scored under a minute apart to wrestle the lead back from Vancouver. But before the first period was over, Mike Piluso scored his first goal in 15 games as he pounced on a juicy rebound and slapped a shot past Pickard to tie it up at two. Vancouver would then go to the power play. Nick Ross would hammer a shot past Pickard and the Giants would have their one goal lead back, 3-2 after 20 minutes.

Greg Scott would score on the power play for Seattle midway through period two as he was able to corral a pass and snap a shot past Tyson Sexsmith to tie things up at three. Thomas Hickey would then score the winner at 13:31 of the middle stanza, as he crashed the crease on a delayed Vancouver penalty to give the T-Birds the lead for good.

There was no scoring in the third as both teams traded chances, but were unable to score.

The Giants are now 46-5-0-3 on the season and 23-4-0-1 on the road this year. The Giants wrap up their five game road trip with a 4-1 record and head home to face the Chilliwack Bruins on Wednesday night at the Pacific Coliseum.
