
Hawks Rally Falls Short, 3-2

The Portland Winter Hawks scored two goals in the third period, but their rally fell short as they drop a close 3-2 decision to the Prince George Cougars at the CN Centre in Prince George.
Chris Francis, set up by Radim Valchar and Troy Rutkowski), and Stefan Schneider, assisted by Joel Ridgeway, scored goals in the third period, but Portland couldn't find the equalizer.
Prince George got a power play goal from Cameron Cepek in the first, an even strength marker from Alex Poulter in the second and a short-handed goal from Brett Connolly in the third for the victory.
Ian Curtis started his third consecutive game for Portland, stopping 25 of 28 shots while Kevin Armstrong made 32 saves on 34 shots for Prince George.
On special teams, Portland went 0 for 4 on the power play while Prince George finished 1 for 4.
Next up, the same two teams will battle tomorrow night at the CN Centre, game time is 7:00.
